Analysis of the causes of death and probability of early death from major chronic diseases among permanent residents in Weifang City in 2021
Objective By analyzing the causes of death and the probability of major chronic premature deaths among perma-nent residents in Weifang City in 2021,this study aims to provide data support for the Weifang City government to formu-late chronic disease related prevention and control policies.Methods Permanent death cases in Weifang City from January 1,2021 to December 31,2021 were collected through the Shandong Province Death Cause Registration and Reporting In-formation System,and compared with the death data of public security and civil affairs to make up for missing reports.The crude mortality rate,standardized mortality rate,mortality rate of three major diseases,composition ratio,and probability of early death from major chronic diseases in Weifang City were analyzed using SAS 9.4 for statistical analysis.Results In 2021,there were 69 889 permanent deaths in Weifang City,with a crude mortality rate of 744.55/100 000,and the standardized population mortality rate in China in 2000 was 327.23/100 000.Among them,the mortality rate from chronic diseases was 685.44/100 000,accounting for 92.06％of the total mortality rate.The mortality rate from major chronic diseases was 660.71/100 000,accounting for 88.73％of the total mortality rate.The probability of early death from the four major chronic diseases was 13.01％.From 2010 to 2012,the crude mortality rate(APC)was 1.16％,t=4.7,P＜0.01,with male APC=1.36％,t=5.9,P＜0.01,and female APC=1.68％,t=8.8,P＜0.01.Conclusions Chronic disea-ses are the main cause of death among residents in Weifang City.The probability of early death from the four types of chronic diseases is still high,with males far higher than females.The government and relevant departments still need to strengthen their efforts to adopt various strategies and methods to prevent and control chronic diseases.
