A Study of Social Loneliness in Modern Western Oil Painting——Take the Works of Hopper and Tim as Example
This paper uses the works of American artist Edward Hopper and German artist Tim Eitel as exam-ples to examine and analyze how oil paintings represent the social solitude of modern Western individuals from per-spectives of form,composition,and color.The study discovers that oil paintings visualize the internal isolation and estrangement of modern Westerners by depicting solitary figures,empty settings,and cool color schemes.It pro-vides revelations and indicates the direction for the development of human future living.
