An interpretation of Lukacs's Objectification and Proletarian Consciousness——Based on History and Class Consciousness
Lukacs,as a representative figure of Western Marxism, has put forward the two concepts of objecti-fication and proletarian consciousness in the capitalist society and analyzed class consciousness with a totality dialec-tics to break the bourgeois objectification with the viewpoint of class consciousness. From a Marxist standpoint,Lukacs's thought is both progressive and irrational. Its progressiveness is reflected in its transcendence, its opposi-tion to the Second International, and its correction of the problems of"Orthodox Marxism"and the absolutization of Marxism;its irrationality includes a certain degree of deviation from Marxist philosophy,a misinterpretation of Engels'dialectics of nature, and the shaping of a theoretical rather than a practical logic.
