China has entered the ranks of innovative countries,and the importance of government—industry—university—re-search collaborative innovation is increasing day by day.This paper uses the four—stage DEA model and the Malmquist index to empirically analyze the efficiency of government—industry—university—research collaborative innovation in 30 provinces in China from 2016 to 2020.The research shows that:Firstly,China's current government—industry—university—research collaborative innovation efficiency is at a high level,but there is still room for increment.The efficiency value is higher in the northeast and eastern regions than in the central and western regions.Secondly,after eliminating environmental differences and random disturbances,the efficiency values of most provinces have declined,and the degree of environmental impact in the central and western regions is more significant than that in the northeast and eastern regions.Thirdly,the total factor produc-tivity shows an upward trend,mainly due to the improvement of technological progress index and pure technical efficiency in-dex,indicating that the increase of innovation efficiency in China is mainly due to the improvement of technological level.In addition,the scale level of most provinces needs to be improved urgently to establish the dual guarantee of scale and technolo-gy for innovation efficiency value.
