As an emerging language variant,catchword is a language phenomenon worth of attention.The usage fre-quency of the popular catchword"xuan"is relatively high.Through the use of the three plane theory and a combina-tion of quantitative and qualitative analysis methods,individual studies are conducted on it,and the reasons for its popularity are explored from both internal and external aspects of the language.Research has found that syntactically,"xuan"mainly serves as a predicate,attributive,object,subject,and can also serve as a single word sentence and a non subject predicate sentence,and can be used as a verb,adjective,or noun;Semantically,its semantic features are rich,and the semantic colors vary with the changes in the usage context;Pragmatically,it has the characteristics of being innovative,humorous,eye-catching,and concise and meaningful.The popularity of"xuan"is driven by the e-conomic principles of language,the need for language communication,and the influence of dialect culture,as well as the promotion of online media and the herd mentality of the masses.
