象、物、精、信:《老子》第二十一章"四有"解

《老子》第二十一章的四个"其中有"有着不同的内涵和逻辑层次."惚兮恍兮,其中有象;恍兮惚兮,其中有物"一句中"象"先"物"后,"象"模糊无形,"物"具体有形,这句话说的是道体生物成物的递进过程或由道而物再由物而道的回环过程."窈兮冥兮,其中有精"的"精"指精诚不息的动力、生生不已的能量,此句点明道体生物成物过程有其内在的动力."其精甚真,其中有信"的"信"为"信验",是说那种动力能量是真实存在的,即道体生物成物的过程乃是有信验的,其可验证处正在于道体发用而呈现出的自然的世界以及世界自然地生化.

The"Four Haves"in Chapter 21 of Laozi have different connotations and logical levels.In the sentence"Vague and indefinite,there exhibit images;"Indefinite and vague,there exhibits substance",the"image"comes be-fore the"substance",the"image"is vague and intangible,and the"substance"is concrete and tangible.This sentence refers to the progressive process of Dao giving birth to substance,which can also be seen as a loop process from Dao to substance and then from substance to Dao.The word"essence"in the phrase"Distant and dark,it embraces es-sence"refers to the endless power and energy.After explaining the process of Dao giving birth to substance,it is pointed out that this process is inherently driven."The essence is a genuine existence,that can be tested as true"means that the energy is real and not delusional,which lies in the natural world and its natural evolution presented by the Dao.
