Image Language and Historiography——Methodological Interaction in Siegfried Kracauer's Philosophy of History
In History:The Last Thing Before the End,Siegfried Kracauer critically interprets the various theoretical issues involved in historiography through the use of photographic media and image language, thus constructing a u-nique philosophical view of history. This historical theory with a comparative research perspective is based on the sim-ilarity between photography and historiography,as well as the consistency between the ontology of photography and modern historiography epistemology. This article attempts to analyze the basic principles of historians, the process of historiography compilation, and the heterogeneous structure of the historical world by examining the methodological interaction in Kracauer's philosophy of history,in order to open up the obscured modern historiography.
