As the study of unreliable narratives spreads widely, classic works using unreliable narratives are increasing-ly being selected for inclusion in primary and secondary Chinese language textbooks. In the face of traditional reliable narratives, readers directly decode the narrator's discourse to comprehend the author's intent, whereas the reading of unreliable narrative texts requires readers to go beyond the mapping of the narrator's discourse in order to infer the au-thor's irony embedded in the work.Only through the fog of the narrator's words and the author's complicity can the reader gain a uniquely beautiful reading experience and at the same time enhance his or her individual thinking skills.
