The Relationship between Campus Exclusion and Internet Addiction in Junior High School Students:The Chain Mediated Effect of Self-Esteem and Forgiveness Tendency
In order to explore the relationship between campus exclusion and junior high school students'Internet addic-tion,as well as the mechanisms of self-esteem and forgiveness tendencies in the relationship between campus exclu-sion and junior high school students'Internet addiction,a survey was conducted among 562 middle school students u-sing the adolescent exclusion scale,self esteem scale,adolescent forgiveness tendency scale,and Internet addiction scale.The results showed that campus exclusion could significantly and positively predict Internet addiction among junior high school students;Self-esteem mediated the relationship between campus exclusion and Internet addiction a-mong junior high school students;The tendency towards forgiveness mediated the relationship between campus exclu-sion and Internet addiction among junior high school students;Self-esteem and forgiveness tendencies played a chain mediating role between campus exclusion and Internet addiction among junior high school students.Therefore,cam-pus exclusion could directly affect junior high school students'Internet addiction,and also indirectly affect Internet ad-diction through the chain mediation of self-esteem and forgiveness tendencies.
