Blind Spot of Local Opera Inheritance Research from the Perspective of Information Sender-Receiver Relationship——Teochew Opera as an Example
Up to now, literatures collected on the study of the heritage of local operas are mainly focused on the compilation and publication of historical documents and canonical books, the introduction of the latest developments and achievements of the opera like Teochew Opera,as well as the introduction of new protection policies. These literatures focus on the side of"performers on the stage",downplaying or even ignoring the other side of the"performance-viewing"dichotomy of local theatre-"viewers off the stage".In the transmission of traditional opera information, the performer's"acting"is the main"sender",while the audience is the"receiver"of the corresponding information transmission, which is actually indispensable for these two sides. Therefore, the inheritance of local operas should also embody the inheritance of"spectators",including the conscious cultivation and growth of this group and make it become powerful and sustainable.
