Eternal Model for Scholars——On Han Yu in Imperial Tang Song Wen Chun by Emperor Qianlong
Imperial Tang Song Wen Chun was the official ancient literature anthology selected by Emperor Qianlong himself,guiding and standardizing the direction of the ancient literature anthologies in Qianlong period.In Imperial Tang Song Wen Chun,Emperor Qianlong identified with Han Yu,praised Han Yu and protected Han Yu's image,taking him as a model of Confucian ethics and his articles as a positive model of Chun Wen,which set up a model for scholars to learn.Han Yu's articles about Lingnan selected in Imperial Tang Song Wen Chun,while affirming the artistic achievement of Han Yu's articles,praised Han Yu's political achievement in Lingnan and his civilization among the people.Emperor Qianlong's criticism of Han Yu's articles about Lingnan also shows his political thinking on frontier governance.
