从实验室到公众:科学家公共沟通能力提升策略

科学家应具备良好的公共沟通能力,能推动知识的扩展和增长,并促进科学知识传播,影响科学政策和决策制定,提高公众科学素养,解决科学和社会问题,应对挑战和争议.以往研究已经关注到并越来越重视科学家的公共沟通能力,讨论了科学家进行公共沟通面临的困境及后果,并为科学家的公共沟通提供具体的方法策略,然而针对中国科学家公共沟通能力的研究相对较少.科学家当前面临的公共沟通难题,主要有科学自身的问题、科学家与公众的问题,以及沟通与传播的问题.在现状分析的基础上,可以采取系统化的教育和培训、体制化的奖励和认可、广泛的合作与伙伴关系、开发并提供科学传播工具、建立持续的监测反馈机制等,有效地提升科学家的公共沟通能力、提高科学的社会影响力.
From the Laboratory to the Public:Strategies for Enhancing Scientists'Public Communication Skills
Scientists with strong public communication skills play a crucial role in advancing the expansion and growth of knowledge.They facilitate the dissemination of scientific knowledge,influence science policies and decision-making,enhance public scientific literacy,address scientific and societal issues,and tackle challenges and controversies.Previous research has increasingly emphasized the importance of scientists'public communication skills,discussing the dilemmas and consequences they face and providing specific methodological strategies.However,there has been relatively limited research specifically focused on the public communication skills of Chinese scientists.Scientists currently encounter various challenges in public communication,including issues inherent to the scientific process,the relationship between scientists and the public,and communication and dissemination problems.Based on the analysis of the current situation,systematic education and training,institutionalized rewards and recognition,extensive collaboration and partnerships,the development and provision of scientific communication tools,and the establishment of continuous monitoring and feedback mechanisms can effectively enhance scientists'public communication skills and increase the societal impact of science.
