Social Problems and Responses in the Early Period of Emperor Shenzong's Rule in Song Dynasty
Shenzong's reign had a profound impact on the political development of the Northern Song Dynasty.In the early Xining period,the social problems continued to deteriorate.However,from the perspective of imperial power,Emperor Shenzong believed that power,finance,border defense threating to the imperial rule of the problem.In order to solve the problems,Emperor Shenzong cooperated with his ministers to carry out reforms centering on progressive reforms;In order to compete with his ministers for political dominance,Emperor Shenzong actively engaged in the game of power with his ministers to resist the weakening of the imperial power by the scholars and the generals.Later,when the progressive reforms failed,the Emperor gave up cooperating with these ministers and continued to look for new collaborators,which was the prelude to the Xifeng Reform.
