The Relationship between Wang Daokun's Contradiction in Official and Hermit Life and the Development of Retro Literature
Wang Daokun's multiple experiences of serving and hiding have left him in a vortex of contradictions throughout his life.Even though he lived in seclusion for more than 20 years,he still did not reach the state of"true seclusion",ultimately forming a life contradiction of both progress and seclusion. At its root,it is due to Wang Daokun's identity as a Confucian, which makes it difficult for him to completely let go of his national responsibilities and career aspirations,as well as his desire for self spiritual peace and understanding of life. When faced with the contradiction of officialdom and seclusion,he resolved the deep-seated contradiction of officialdom and seclusion by practicing Zen Buddhism, enjoying the pleasure of socializing, and promoting the trend of retro culture. At the same time,he also made important contributions to the development of retro literature in the Ming Dynasty.
