Research progress and trend of wetland carbon in the past 20 years based on bibliometric analysis
As a key transition zone between land and waterbody, the dynamic change of wetland carbon has a significant impact on ecosystem services, global carbon cycle and climate change. In this study,in order to better understand the progress and frontier dynamics of wetland carbon research at home and abroad, the bibliometrics analysis was performed based on the data extracted from the Web of Science database and China national knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)database using CiteSpace software to summarize and analyze the development progress of wetland carbon research over the past 20 years. The results showed that in the past 20 years,2168 articles and 5810 articles on wetland carbon had been published in China and international countries, respectively. The amount of articles published in the past 10 years had increased by 3-4 times compared with the amount of domestic and foreign articles published in the previous 10 years.Compared with foreign wetland carbon research, the early stage of wetland carbon research in China was mainly for the sewage treatment. However, the early stage of wetland carbon research in the world initially focused on the wetland soil, water, and nitrogen research, and sustainable development in the direction of global climate change, dynamic changes in carbon, and wetland sediments;the high-frequency words, such as carbon cycle, greenhouse gases, carbon sink, were appeared in the wetland research in China because of the unique environmental status and geographical environment, indicating that the wetland carbon research in China gradually shifted to the research of carbon biogeochemical cycle and climate change. Finally, through comparative analysis of the hotspots and frontiers of wetland carbon research at home and abroad over the past 20 years, future research of wetland carbon in our country was proposed.
