Change of vegetation index and its relationship with climate conditions in Xiongan New Area
The construction of Xiongan New Area is a major national event and a millennium plan.Systematic analysis of vegetation index change and its correlation with climate conditions in Xiongan New Area can provide scientific basis for future planning, ecological restoration and reconstruction of Xiongan New Area.Based on the data of monthly NDVI,temperature and precipitation from 2001 to 2020 in Xiongan New Area and its three counties, the change trend of vegetation index, the correlation between NDVI and temperature, precipitation were analyzed using methods of arithmetic mean, least square and Pearson correlation analysis. The results showed that the vegetation index of Xiongan New Area had an overall upward trend and obvious interdecadal variation from 2001 to 2020.The average vegetation index in the first 10 years was relatively smaller, but the interannual variation was larger. The result in the second decade was just opposite. The vegetation index of Xiongan New Area had a downward trend in summer, but it had an upward trend in the other three seasons, especially in spring. There was a positive correlation between vegetation index and annual temperature in Xiongan New Area, but it was different between regions.Among three counties, the correlation coefficient in Xiong county was the smallest and in Anxin county was the largest. In spring, autumn and winter, the vegetation index was positively correlated with temperature, and the largest correlation coefficient appeared in spring.Average temperature in summer was negatively correlated with vegetation index, but positively correlated with vegetation index in autumn. There was a positive correlation between annual vegetation index and precipitation in Xiongan New Area.Seasonally, precipitation in summer was positively correlated with vegetation index of summer, autumn and winter. The effect of summer precipitation on vegetation could lag for more than half a year. However, the effects of precipitation in spring, autumn and winter on vegetation index were relatively small.
