Review of research of ecological service value of ponds
Ponds are a type of wetland feature,a unique ecosystem that contributes to the improvement of human settlements and the protection of ecological and biodiversity.In order to improve the wetland monitoring and classification system,as well as to protect our habitat,this paper sorts out the existing researches to give a more detailed description of the small water landscape-ponds,which have been neglected for a long time.Based on the definition of ponds,this article separately discusses the functions of ecological and biodiversity of ponds,and finally summarizes and prospects related studies on ponds.The article advocates that the local authorities should pay attention to and protect such special wetland resources,so that they can become one of the region's"near-natural"landscapes,thereby promoting the construction of human settlements and the harmonious coexistence of humans and ecology.
