A Simple Yield and Confluence Calculation Method for Surface Runoff Modeling Based on DEM Data
Most of the existing urban storm runoff models are complex in structure, intense in calculational complexity. These characteristics are not conducive to the rapid forecasting and early warning of urban flood.A surface runoff calculation model was built to combine the advantages of distributed hydrological model and DEM data. The smallest compute unit of this model is cell, which subtilize the information of underlying surface. Moreover, the rule of runoff generation and concentration was designed based on the principle of steepest slope and the SCS-CN method. An application of the model was conducted in Wharfedale in Eng-land.The simulated outflow with optimized parameters which selected by genetic algorithm fits well with the observed outflow, with the Nash efficiency coefficient reached to 0.8967.The model realizes a simple and fast calculation of flood of fine surface.
