Research progress on the regulation of phase separation by m6A
Liquid-liquid phase separation(LLPS)refers to membrane-less organelles formed within cells due to the aggre-gation or separation of molecules based on their physicochemical properties, playing a vital role within the cell.m6A,the most a-bundant modification on RNA,is also closely associated with LLPS.However, the regulatory mechanisms of m6A in phase sepa-ration are still unclear. This article summarizes how m6A RNA controls phase separation by interacting with proteins, changing RNA localization, altering RNA structure, and synergizing with other RNA modifications. It also details the biological functions regulated by phase separation and offers a new perspective on the biological processes mediated by m6 A-regulated phase sepa-ration to guide subsequent research.
