Research progress on multidrug resistance gene lsa(E)in bacteria
The resistance gene lsa(E)encodes an ABC transport protein, which mediates drug efflux pumps, thereby reducing the intracellular drug concentration in bacteria and leading to drug resistance.Strains carrying the lsa(E)gene have shown re-sistance to the three major classes of antibiotics-lincoamides,pleulopleutin and streptomycin A,resulting in multidrug resist-ance.This review aims to comprehensively summarize the discovery, mechanism of action, genetic environment, and prevalence of the multidrug resistance gene lsa(E)in different environment. The information gathered will provide reference for the rational use of antibiotics in livestock farming, the development of novel drugs, and the containment of the spread of lsa(E)resistance genes.
