Transcriptome Analysis of the Terrestrial Plant Carallia brachiata from Rhizophoraceae
To explore the molecular mechanism of the Carallia brachiata adaptation to the environment, this study analyzed the transcriptome data of eight tissues(roots, stems, leaves, flowers, ovules, fruits, seeds, embryos)of the C.brachiata.The re-sults showed that the gene expression level showed a reverse trend in reproductive(fruit/seed/embryo)and vegetative(root/stem/leaf)organs respectively, which meant that genes were highly expressed in vegetative organs but lower in reproductive ones. The specific expression genes of 8 tissues were significantly enriched in 35 pathways.Compared with the vegetative organs(roots, stems, leaves),the specific expression genes from reproductive organs were mainly enriched in some pathways related to sub-stance synthesis, such as carbohydrates, amino acids, lipids, etc. The specific genes obtained from the comparison between dif-ferent tissues were mainly enriched in 53 pathways.Among them,glycolysis/gluconeogenesis is a central pathway, and the ex-pression of several key genes related to this pathway in reproductive organs are significantly higher than that in vegetative organs. The results suggested that the gene expression profile of C.brachiata was consistent with its terrestrial environment and seed prop-agation mode.
