Cellular senescence is a biological process characterized by the dysfunction of cells, along with a decline in cell differentiation and proliferation.Senescent cells exhibit some notable changes, including epigenetic remodeling of chromatin, alterations in the abundance and function of organelles, and an increase in the secretion of pro-inflammatory factors. This paper outlines the eight widely recognized hallmark changes associated with cellular senescence and their typical mechanisms of action,to provide cutting-edge teaching materials on cellular senescence for senior high school biology teaching.
