Studies on macrophage function and its application in the treatment of diseases
Macrophage is a type of phagocyte, which has various functions such as phagocytosis and killing of pathogens, removal of apoptotic cells through cell burial, participation in tissue repair and regeneration, and immunomodulation.Since macrophages are closely related to the occurrence of many human diseases, the development of macrophage-targeted disease therapeutics has become a research hotspot in the field of biomedicine in recent years. This paper reviews the sources of macrophages, their biological functions and their research progress in disease treatment,to provide expansion materials for teaching the content related to immune regulation in senior high school biology.
