Executive Director Liability Insurance and Enterprise Digital Transformation
As a supplement to the corporate governance mechanism,executive director liability insurance may have an impact on the digital transformation of enterprises due to its talent siphon effect and risk underpinning effect.Based on the financial data of Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed companies from 2010 to 2021,this paper em-pirically tests the relationship between executive director liability insurance and enterprises'digital transformation.The research finds that:the introduction of executive director liability insurance can promote enterprises'digital transformation.It mainly promotes the digital transformation of enterprises by improving the level of enterprise risk bearing and human capital.Heterogeneity analysis shows that the promotion effect of the insurance above on the digital transformation of enterprises is more significant in high-tech enterprises and those employing senior execu-tives with overseas background.We should continue to improve the system design of director liability insurance,hedge managers'practice risks,and encourage enterprise executives to actively promote the digital transformation of enterprises.
