The investment activities of local government banks in the period of the Republic of China had their own characteris-tics.The investment activities of the Shansi Provincial Bank were divided into two periods by the Central Plains War.In the prior pe-riod,the investment had two main aspects:one is landed investment in several water conservancy companies in Yanbei area,it gained absolute land rent while achieving borrowing profits,another is capital penetration of some national industries,it seized affili-ated land capital while controlling the enterprise.In the second wave of industrialization in Shanxi,the investment function of the Shansi Provincial Bank was inadequate.Foreign ownership was the main way,but the overall size was small.The financial capital The Shansi Provincial Bank has not been incorporated into the normal capitalist nature of the loan capital operation and transforma-tion of the track,but also the characteristics of the social and economic historical stage of the Shanxi and Suiyuan province region and the local government policy arrangements.
