Located in Jule Village,Jule Township,Datong County,about 30 kilometers east of present-day Datong City,Jule City belonged to the military defense system fortress of Datong Town in the Ming Dynasty.From the Tianshun period to the Longq-ing period,the military functions of the settlement city were improved,and the fortifications were continuously strengthened to cope with the changes in the situation of the frontline war.Combined with the geographical situation,the construction process of Juluo City is also a microcosm of the establishment of the defense system in the north of the Ming Dynasty.
