Literary appreciation and criticism comes into being along with literary creation.Liu Xie's Wen Xin Diao Long and Ge Hong's Outer Chapter of Baopuzi both contain a rich theory of literary appreciation and criticism.Wen Xin Diao Long's literary appreciation critique on"Zhi Yin Qi Nan"is in the same line as the literary viewpoint in Outer Chapter of Baopuzi,showing obvious similarities in two aspects of"Yin Shi Nan Zhi"and"Zhi Shi Nan Feng".Wen Xin Diao Long has developed on the basis of the liter-ary appreciation critique of Outer Chapter of Baopuzi,forming a complete system of"the theory of Zhiyin".Through an overview of Wen Xin Diao Long's inheritance and development of the theory of Zhiyin in Outer Chapter of Baopuzi,we can clarify the develop-ment of ancient literary theory.
