Langzhong Silk Transportation and Marketing Network and Social Economic Development in the Period of the Republic of China
During the period of the Republic of China,Sichuan formed three major silkworm districts with northern Sichuan as the center.Langzhong was also an important silk production base in northern Sichuan.With its superior geographical location and water transportation conditions,it assumed the role of collecting and distributing commodities.Silk is transported and sold directly through the Jialing River via Nanchong and Chongqing to the Shanghai market,and then connected to the international market.The radiation and stimulating effect on the social economy of Langzhong and the entire Jialing River Basin is obvious.
