Study on the effect of dimensional relationship on riveting quality of preformed hole type rivetless joints
In order to study the influence of process parameters on riveting quality of rivetless connec-tion,a model of rivetless connection of prefabricated holes was designed to analyze and obtain the optimal val-ues of prefabricated hole dimensions under one combination of variables corresponding to the combination of plate thickness,punch radius,prefabricated hole radius,and chamfering dimensions,etc,with plate thick-ness,punch radius,prefabricated hole radius,and chamfering dimensions as variables in the rivetless connec-tion.A finite element model of rivetless connection with preformed holes was established,and the software DEFORM-2D was used to simulate the process of rivetless connection with prefabricated holes.The bottom thickness of the riveted joint was controlled at 0.2 mm.The optimal size parameters for the prefabricated holes were selected within the range determined by the calculation formula for the radius of the prefabricated holes.The influence of the chamfer size of the prefabricated holes on the forming quality of the riveted joint was stud-ied.The results show that the radius of the preformed hole,chamfer size,etc.directly affect the quality of the riveted head,the upper and lower plate thickness of 2 mm,preformed hole radius selection of 4.01 mm,chamfer size of 1.2×45°,the best riveting quality;riveting speed affects the riveted head of the neck thick-ness value,and the larger the riveting speed,the smaller the neck thickness value.
