Challenges and Solutions of Deepening Climate Change Cooperation in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle
Extreme weather and climate events,as well as secondary disasters induced by them,occur frequently in the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle,and the vulnerability to climate change is high.It is urgent to strengthen the coordination of policies and actions on climate change.This study analyzed current situation and problems,challenges of tackling climate change in Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.In view of the outstanding problems in energy development,transportation and governance system in Sichuan and Chongqing,this study suggested strengthening regional industrial chain collaborative clusters,establishing an inter-regional energy coordination mechanism,accelerating the green and low-carbon transformation of the transport,building a policy system for synergizing regional pullution and carbon reduction,carrying out adaptive management of ecosystems and disaster prevention and control,improving the capacity to develop and manage carbon assets,and strengthening research,development and application of key green and low-carbon technologies.
