Occurrence Characteristics and Risk Assessment of Phthalate Esters(PAEs)in Sewage Sludge of Zibo City
In this paper, the occurrence of phthalate esters(PAEs)in sewage sludge from 8 sewage treatment plants of Zibo City were analyzed using GC-MS method, meanwhile source analysis and risk assessment were conducted. The results showed that the concentration of PAEs in the samples ranged from 4.21 to 25.02 mg/kg,with an average value of 9.69 mg/kg.Among them,di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate(DEHP)and dioctyl phthalate(DnOP)were the main pollutants, accounting for 71.4%and 24.2%.Compared with other regions, the concentration of PAEs in sewage treatment plants of Zibo City was at relatively low level. The source analysis showed that PAEs in the sludge of this study may mainly came from heavy industries such as petrochemicals and building materials,as well as human daily necessities such as cosmetics and personal care products. The risk assessment results showed that PAEs had certain ecological risks and the sludge should be treated with caution in their disposal and reuse.
