Lancang-Mekong River Integrated Law Enforcement and Security Cooperation Center Guided by Neighborhood Diplomacy Principle:Position and Prospect
The principle of neighborhood diplomacy is an important part of Xi Jinping's thoughts on diplomacy in the new era.Doing a good job for the neighborhood diplomacy is necessary to safeguard national sovereignty,security,and development interests.Lancang-Mekong River Integrated Law Enforcement and Security Cooperation Center(LM-LECC)is a new sub-regional system for law enforcement and security cooperation jointly established by the six countries in the river basin,and the first comprehensive intergovern-mental organization of law enforcement and security cooperation in Lancang-Mekong River basin.Advocating and participating in LM-LECC is a vivid example of building a shared future community with neighbors for China,and a concrete implementation of the neigh-borhood diplomacy principle of amity,sincerity,mutual benefit and inclusiveness,serving as a model for maintaining stability in the neighborhood.In order to meet the urgent need of safe neighborhood and adapt the new international role of China,LM-LECC should stick to the concept of security for development,comprehensively apply political,economic,security and other means,and continue to explore a higher-level law enforcement and security cooperation relation in Mekong River basin,becoming a platform for China to spread shared security concept and enhance the mutual trust with neighbor countries,so as to be in line with the security strategy in the neigh-borhood.
