An Empirical Study on the Job Performance Model for Grassroots Police Officers from the Perspective of Trait Activation Theory
Based on Trait Activation Theory(TAT),this article used work engagement and interpersonal relationship as intermedi-ary variables, organizational justice and organizational political perception as moderator variables to construct a theoretical model in which the level of extroverted personality affects the job performance of grassroots police officers. The results of the empirical analysis based on a sample of 340 grassroots police officers showed that:first, extraverted personality traits have a positive impact on the job per-formance of grassroots police officers;second, the work engagement and interpersonal relationship of grassroots police officers serve as chain mediators between job performance and extroverted personality;third, organizational justice positively regulates the relationship be-tween extraverted personality and job performance, but does not have a regulating effect on the relationship between extraverted person-ality and work engagement;the regulating effect of organizational political perception on the relationship between interpersonal relation-ship and job performance is not significant, but it negatively regulates the relationship between work engagement and job performance.Based on the above conclusion, responding to the requirement for promoting the job performance of grassroots police officers,improve-ments should be made from three aspects:harnessing the advantages of police officers'personality traits, optimizing and improving work situations, and providing positive guidance for work behaviors.
