Teaching Exploration and Practice of Public Elective Courses in Police Colleges:Taking Basic Chemistry for Public Security for Example
To enhance pedagogical excellence of public elective courses in public security colleges,cultivate students with multi-talented ability,and promote the comprehensive development of students,the author endeavors to pay attention to students'psychological needs based on the characteristics of the discipline in the teaching activities of public elective courses,make students attach great im-portance to public elective courses,adhere to high standards and strict requirements,closely combine teaching with public security real-ity,adopt heuristic,interactive and case teaching methods,etc.,and integrate innovative content and public security reality into teach-ing.At the same time,the author makes an effort to strengthen the communication between teachers and students,create a relaxed and active classroom atmosphere,stimulate students'interest in learning,mobilize students'enthusiasm for learning,maintain a high level of classroom attention,and make teaching an interactive learning.Teaching practice has proved that the public elective course"Basic Chemistry for Public Security"has good teaching effect and is highly appreciated by students.Classroom teaching not only broadens students'horizons,but also cultivates students'good scientific literacy,thereby effectively improving the teaching quality of public elec-tive courses in public security colleges.
