Design and Optimization of Full-Thickness Asphalt Pavement Structure
To explore the roles that functional layers such as the fatigue resistance structure layer play in the full-thickness asphalt pavement structure, this paper designed a kind of structure that uses graded gravel as the base layer and fine-grained dense asphalt mixture as the anti-fatigue layer.By changing the structural layer thickness and the designed axle load, the tensile strain at the asphalt layer bottom, compressive strain on the subgrade top surface, and estimated service life of the pavement structure under different factor combinations were calculated. The variance analysis method was used to determine the impacts of different factors on the pavement performance, and the designed pavement structure was optimized. The results showed that increasing the thickness of the fine-grained dense asphalt mixture layer and graded gravel layer had a positive effect on ensuring the durability of the pavement structure, and the repeated heavy load was the main factor affecting the performance and durability of the pavement structure.
