Study on Traffic Capacity of Large Transport Vehicles in Prefabricated T-Beam Bridge
To explore the influence of large transport vehicles on the traffic capacity of bridges, this paper took a prefabricated T-beam bridge as an example and established its spatial model by the grillage analogy method via the finite element software MIDAS Civil 2021 to analyze the loading effects on the traffic of typical large transport vehicles. The impacts of the bridge span, axle load, wheelbase, and other factors of the traffic capacity of large transport vehicles on the bridge are analyzed, and general rules are derived for the access conditions for large transport vehicles. The study results show that under the loading effect of the large transport vehicle, the surplus of positive bending moment of the T-beam bridge is much larger than that of the negative bending moment and shear force, while the negative bending moment and shear force are relatively more sensitive on the vehicle axle load and wheelbase change, with a greater influence of the axle load than the wheelbase. For T-beam bridges with a span over 25 m and good technical condition, when the type of large transport vehicle is the type mentioned in this paper and the ratio of its axle load to wheelbase is less than 10,it is judged that the large transport vehicle can pass the bridge safely.
