Simulation Analysis of Different Tunnel Excavation Methods for Underpass of Existing Expressways
Focusing on a new underpass tunnel of the existing expressway,this paper used the finite element numerical simulation means to compare and analyze the influences of the excavation by the CD method and the twin-side heading method on the existing expressway.The analysis results showed that the maximum settlement values of the road surface caused by the excavation of the CD method and the twin-side heading method were 1.73 cm and 1.43 cm,respectively.Using the twin-side heading method caused a smaller settlement and settlement increment than the CD method during the construction process.The distribution range of the plastic zone of the twin-side heading method was larger than that of the CD method,but they all met the stability requirements of tunnel excavation.
