Application of Recycled Brick Aggregate in Cement Concrete Pavement
To investigate the application feasibility of recycled brick aggregate in cement concrete pavement,this paper compared and analyzed the basic physical properties of recycled brick aggregate,recycled concrete aggregate,and natural aggregate,and further studied the effects of the dosage of recycled brick aggregate on the mechanical performance and construction workability of cement concrete.The results showed that compared with natural aggregate,recycled brick aggregate had lower apparent density and higher crush value and water absorption rate.With the increasing dosage of recycled brick aggregate,concrete's apparent density decreased at an accelerated rate,the compressive strength increased and then reduced,and the splitting tensile strength decreased linearly.The water-saturated brick aggregate dosage had little effect on concrete flow,and as the recycled brick aggregate dosage increased,the cement concrete flow decreased slightly,but segregation and water seepage were serious.In terms of the mechanical performance and construction workability of recycled brick concrete,it is considered that recycled brick aggregate can be used in cement concrete pavement with a suggested dosage of no more than 30%.
