Practice of Street Crossing Facilities Design at Urban Intersections:A Case Study of Pingshan District in Shenzhen City
An urban intersection is a direct conflict between motor vehicles and non-motorized traffic.Street crossing facilities affect the judgment and choice of"pedestrians"and"vehicles"in crossing intersections,and may also affect the severity of traffic accidents once they occur.Taking Pingshan District as an example,by analyzing the process and characteristics of pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles crossing the street,focusing on two aspects of graphic design and facility matching,this paper establishes 8 categories and 18 subcategories of technical indicators of design and evaluation system for street crossing facilities,providing sufficient basis for precise,high-quality,and user-friendly crossing services for citizens.
