Stability Analysis of a V-Shaped Slope under Strong Rainfalls
Focusing on the slopes on both sides of the gully under the strong rainfall, the finite element analysis of the deformation and safety factor of the slopes was conducted under three conditions:without rainfall and support, under rainfall but unsupported, and with rainfall and support, and the mechanical characteristics of the support structures under each condition were investigated. The results showed that the maximum plastic strain of the slopes on both sides under the strong rainfall occurred at the bottom of the gully, and the plastic strain gradually lessened along the circumferential direction. The strong rainfall would simultaneously decrease the mechanical stability of the slopes. To reduce the impact of rainfalls on slope stability, the single-row anti-slide pile could be arranged on the slopes on both sides of the gully. The shear properties of the anti-slide pile's bottom material should be strengthened in the construction process.
