Designed Flood Flow Calculation for a River-crossing Highway Bridge
Hydrological disasters are unpredictable and destructive, and have become the main cause of the destruction of bridges in service. In this paper, based on a river-crossing bridge in a first-class highway, the calculation and analysis of the designed flow indicate that in the applicable range, compared with the watershed hydrological model method from Shanxi Province Hydrology Calculation Handbook, the commonly used calculation method for the designed flood flow in the small watershed in highway design is more convenient and simpler, can meet the engineering needs, and more suitable for use in the actual design. The analysis method and conclusions can provide a reference for similar projects.
