Structure Parameters and Road Performance of Rubber/SBS Composite Modified SMA-13
To comprehensively evaluate the structure parameters and road performance of the rubber/SBS composite modified SMA-13,the road performance of the SMA-13 mixture such as high temperature, low temperature, and water stability were analyzed by the rutting test, water immersion Marshall test,freeze-thaw splitting test, and trabecular bending test, and the dynamic modulus was analyzed by uniaxial compression test. The results showed that the dynamic modulus of the rubber/SBS composite modified SMA-13 was 5 764 MPa,which can provide a basis for the structural design of the rubber/SBS composite modified pavement. After the Hamburg rutting test loading 20 000 times, the maximum rutting depth of the rubber/SBS composite modified SMA-13 was 1.55 mm,without a spalling point, showing excellent high-temperature stability under the water temperature coupling action. The maximum bending and tensile strains in the trabecular bending test were much higher than those of the current design specification requirement, which indicated that the rubber/SBS composite modified SMA-13 had good low-temperature cracking resistance. From the results of residual stability,freeze-thaw splitting test, and Hamburg rutting test, the rubber/SBS composite modified SMA-13 had great water damage resistance. The rubber/SBS composite modified asphalt eliminates the waste tire rubber powder,at the same time it ensures the comprehensive use of the asphalt mixtures, with great application prospects.
