Preparation and Strain Sensing Characteristics of Intelligent Carbon Fiber Composite Reinforcement Bar Materials
The current bare fiber grating is mainly applied to adhere to stressed bars and structural surfaces or embedded in concrete,which is easily affected by concrete vibration,water seepage,segregation,dry shrinkage,etc.,resulting in data exception.To effectively protect the implementation of bare fiber gratings,based on the unique pultrusion molding process of carbon fiber composite reinforcement bar materials,this paper prepared intelligent carbon fiber composite reinforcement bar material(intelligent composite bar)by embedding the bare fiber grating in advance in the preparation process.The strain sensing characteristics of the intelligent composite bar were tested to explore the possibility of applying it to bridge monitoring.The test results showed that the strain sensing sensitivity of the intelligent composite bars was 1.05 pm/με and 0.96 pm/με for the initial loading and 1.12 pm/με and 1.07 pm/µε for the repeated loading.Neither the initial loading nor repeated loading changed the strain sensing characteristics of the fiber grating,and the strain sensing sensitivity was still maintained at about 1.0 pm/με,indicating that embedding the bare fiber grating in the carbon fiber composite reinforcement bar materials is feasible for the monitoring,which can be used in bridge structure monitoring.
