A preliminary study of plant diversity in the most difficult to restore natural secondary shrub forest in dolomite rocky hills in Karst region about kaili Guizhou.The research with six sample plots total 2400m2 of vegetation showed that 49 woody plants species belonging to 21 families and 37genera,15 herbs belonging to 6 families and10 genera.The main component of plant is shrub + perennial.There existed the comparatively obvious dominant species within each layer of the natural secondary shrub forest in dolomite rocky hills: Viburnum chinshanense and Pyracantha fortuneana in shrub layer,Miscanthus floridulus and Imperata cylindrical and Arthraxon hispidus in herb layer as the dominant species.Richness of plant species index and diversity index were lower due to harsh habitat.
