Measurement and Spatial Distribution of Organic Carbon Stocks in Henan Ecosystems
In order to reveal the influence of land use change on organic carbon stock in Henan Prov-ince and explore the mechanism of organic carbon increase and sink in terrestrial ecosystems, the land use changes and the changes of ecosystem organic carbon stocks caused by them in Henan Province during the two periods of 1980-2000 and 2000-2020 were analyzed applying GIS platform and the InVEST model. The results showed that the area of agricultural land in Henan Province decreased in the two periods by 1.25 × 104 hm2 and 4.45 × 105 hm2,the area of grassland decreased by 7.73 × 104 hm2 and 6.04 × 104 hm2,the area of forest increased by 1.08 × 104 hm2 and 1.25 × 104 hm2,and the ar-ea of construction land increased by 1.46× 105 hm2 and 4.41X105 hm2,in the two periods respective-ly.During the period of 1980-2020,total 1.91×106 hm2 of land use in the province has changed. From 1980 to 2000,organic carbon stocks in Henan Province increased by 2.61X106 t,and from 2000 to 2020,however,organic carbon stocks decreased by about 7.00× 106 t.From1980 to 2020,the land use change promoted the accumulation of organic carbon stock in Henan Province.Even though the forest land area has increased, the organic carbon stock still showed a decreasing trend, which is be-cause the increase of organic carbon stock through the increase of forest land area is not enough to off-set the loss of organic carbon stock due to the large decrease of cultivated land and grassland area.In order to increase organic carbon accumulation and reduce the loss of carbon stocks caused by land use change,it is very positive to protect the forest area. The increase of forestland plays an important role in the enhancement of organic carbon stock in the ecosystem.Under the increasing pressure of global warming, the carbon sink effect brought by effective land use planning is more and more important for the future urban development in China.
