Cutting Technology of Two Syringa vulgaris Varieties
Using two double-petaled Syrian lilac varieties,'Fengnian'and'Hongfeicui',as materi-als,and based on previous results from single-factor cutting experiments,an orthogonal test was conducted to investigate the impact of different levels and combinations of hormone types,concentra-tions,and treatment durations on cutting survival rates. The aim was to identify suitable propagation methods for the two double-petaled Syrian lilac varieties, providing a reference for their cutting propagation and mass production. The results indicated that using a substrate composed of 5 cm of sand,5 cm of peat moss, and 10 cm of native soil, combined with a quick dip in 1000 ppm GGR for 20 seconds, was the optimal cutting method for both'Fengnian'and'Hongfeicui',with survival rates of 79.67%and 87.33%,respectively.Range analysis revealed that the type of hormone was the pri-mary factor affecting the cutting survival rates of both double-petaled Syrian lilac varieties.
