The Transition and Inheritance of Folk Sports"Liaomingdi"in the Old Tianqiao in Beijing:A Case Study of"Pangang"
Folk sports at the Old Tianqiao in Beijing,known as"Liaomingdi",represent a traditional cultural form where Beijing folk culture and sports culture blend,constituting an essential part of Chinese traditional cul-ture.This study,adopting a perspective of dynamic inheritance,employs research methods of literature review,oral history,and on-site investigation to explore the transition process of the folk sport"Liaomingdi",the tradi-tional activity of"Pangang"at the Old Tianqiao in Beijing.The research analyzes its current challenges and pro-poses specific and feasible paths for inheritance.It is concluded that the transition of"Pangang"at the Old Tian-qiao can be divided into four stages:the formative stage in the late Qing Dynasty,the developmental stage in the late Qing and early Republic of China,the prosperous stage at the beginning of the People's Republic of China,and the declining stage after the reform and opening-up.The current challenges faced by Pangang at Old Tian-qiao mainly include the confusion in the development orientation of Pangang skills,oscillating between the dilem-ma of beauty and fitness,difficulties in the inheritance of Pangang projects,lacking a healthy and organized mechanism and social environment for inheritance,outdated and singular carrier for Pangang inheritance,with a lack of effective carriers with project knowledge system,and insufficient material support for Pangang inherit-ance,with rigid concepts leading to inadequate"hematopoietic"functions.Based on these findings,a dynamic inheritance path for Tianqiao Pangang is proposed,including reconstructing the ecological space of Tianqiao folk sports culture to achieve comprehensive protection of Pangang,shifting development perspectives to stimulate the modernization and innovative vitality of Tianqiao Pangang,innovating inheritance methods and exploring carriers for Pangang projects in the era of multimedia,and establishing a government-guided,policy-supported and so-cially coordinated inheritance mechanism.
