The Relationship Between Physical Activity and Psychological Well-Being in High School Students:The Chain Mediating Role of Perceived Social Support and Psychological Resilience
This paper aims to explore the effects of physical activity on perceived social support,psychological resilience,and psychological well-being,as well as the mediating role in the effects of perceived socral support and psychological resilrence on psychological well-being in terms of physical activity.A survey was conducted on 1026 students from their first to third year of high school in two regions of Jiangsu Province,namely South Jiang-su and North Jiangsu.International Physical Activity Questionnaire(Short Scale),Psychological Well-Being Questionnaire,Perceived Social Support Scale,and Adolescent Psychological Resilience Scale were used to measure physical activity,perceived social support,psychological resilience and psychological well-being.The independ-ent variable was physical activity,the mediating variables were perceived social support and psychological resili-ence,and the dependent variable was psychological well-being.Structural equation modeling with Bootstrap method was used for the mediation test and effect analysis.The study finds that physical activity positively pre-dicted high school students'psychological well-being;and perceived social support and psychological resilience mediated physical activity and high school students'psychological well-being respecticely.It is concluded that physical activity is an important factor influencing high school students'psychological well-being.There is a chain-mediated role of perceived social support and psychological resilrence on physical activity and psychological well-being.
