Research on the Impact of Digital Economy on Urban Ecological Efficiency from the Perspective of Big Data Strategy
Digital economy with data as the key element has become a new engine of Chinese-style modernization, providing sustained innovation power and important support for the leap of new-quality productive forces, and empowering eco-efficiency improvement and green sustainable development.Based on the panel data of 277 prefecture-level cities in China from 2011 to 2021,using the SBM-GML model,we construct a multidimensional input and output index system to measure urban eco-efficiency,and take the national-level big data comprehensive pilot zone as the policy assessment object to empirically test the impact of the development of the digital economy on the urban eco-efficiency and its role mechanism. It is found that digital economic development can improve urban eco-efficiency,and this conclusion still holds after a series of robustness tests.Digital economic development can improve green innovation capacity and artificial intelligence, which in turn improves urban eco-efficiency.The pilot effect of national-level comprehensive big data pilot zones gradually increases as the eco-efficiency level of the pilot city increases, and its effect varies depending on the intellectual property rights and the location of the city. From the viewpoint of spatial evolution characteristics, the"spillover effect"generated by the development of digital economy is greater than the"siphon effect",generally showing a positive spatial spillover effect.
