As a water gate reconstruction project, the Wushi Sluice Project in Maonan District,Maoming City has strategic importance for local water resource management and socio-economic development. However, during the construction process, activities such as temporary land occupation and transportation may inevitably lead to soil erosion issues, which may have adverse effects on the project and surrounding environment. Therefore, this study aims to predict the potential amount of soil and water loss in the project based on the characteristics of soil and water loss.Measures such as woven soil bag blocking, drainage ditch construction, land improvement, and vegetation restoration are proposed to reduce the adverse effects of soil and water loss on the project and surrounding environment. These achievements will help support the sustainable development of the Wushi Sluice Project in Maonan District,Maoming City, and also provide useful experience and inspiration for other regions facing similar problems.
